Apple released the firmware 4.0 for the iPhone and iPod Touch devices yesterday (Monday, June 21st) which was a major upgrade for the devices. Important
Please read through everything carefully as there are upgrade traps and different upgrade scenarios that need to be fully understood and considered before using the new tool.
With PwnageTool 4.0, there are certain devices that aren’t supported at all because these devices are not supported by the iOS 4.0 software. The Dev Team is currently working to get past these restrictions. Currently the devices that are NOT supported are the following:

redsn0w beta has been updated to hacktivate iOS 4.0 for iPhone3G (in addition to jailbreaking the iPhone3G and iPod Touch 2G). The download links for redsn0w 0.9.5b5-3 are:
For now, the redsn0w beta release supports only the iPhone3G and iPod Touch 2G at today’s 4.0. It’s still a beta, so you’ll need to let Cydia reorganize, reload, and update after using redsn0w.
Update: And here are the direct links to the update, courtesy ofTUAW> This way you don't need to wait for iTunes to tell you you're ready for an update. YOU'RE TELLING IT.
The blogosphere was abuzz with iPhone 4G rumors over the weekend after Engadget posted photos of what it claims is the next-generation model of Apple's smartphone. Now, the handset itself has fallen into the hands of Gizmodo, which has posted a review complete with videos and photos as well as a detailed list of changes from the 3GS model. Indeed it appears to be the real thing -- somebody at Apple is in big trouble.
New features include a front-facing video camera for mobile chats, a camera flash and higher resolution back-camera, a second microphone for noise cancellation, and an improved display on the phone that will stretch to 960 pixels, which is almost double the screen resolution of the current iPhone 3GS. The case is thinner with an aluminum border and the back of the device is completely flat with a material made either of glass or "shiny plastic" to improve reception.
Google going to released turn by turn navigation to Android 2 based phone. This going to replace my Tom2 or Garmin GPS hahaha. It also going to be released on iPhone

After waiting for a long time, finally Google came up with the Google Sync, this feature will allow many mobile device such as iPhone, BlackBerry, and Windows Mobile phone to use their Gmail account and Calendar just like the Microsoft Exchange. The mail will be delivered immediately to your phone once you receive it in your inbox.
Although precise specs are still secret, the Sony Ericsson Xperia Pureness will be a low end, T9 phone in all but design, though the video hints at Bluetooth connectivity at least. As you can see, the OS isn’t up to much – but it is also see through, making the LG Crystal look about as transparent as the EU’s bean counting office. Sony Ericsson says the Sony Ericsson Xperia Pureness is designed to emulate the “purity of water”, but we’ll hold judgement on that for when it goes on sale in “key cities” in two months’ time.
